About Natural Light Photography

We began our little endeavor in the spring of 2004. Since the very beginning we have sought to share our love of the natural world around us with others. This experience has both challenged us, and deepened our appreciation of nature. We can only hope that in our own small way we inspire others to see the same beauty and magnificence that motivates us. We offer our sincerest gratitude to all of you who have helped us along the way.

My wonderful wife Pam is more than just a travel companion. She manages much of the behind the scenes chores such as taxes, yuk! She also frames and mats our photographs.

I create the images you see here, and am always pleased to answer questions or hear any feedback you may have. Hope your travels are safe and fruitful. See you out there!

Some additional information; because inquiring minds want to know!

About the technical stuff:

I am not really technical guy, so I strongly adhere to two principles: garbage in, garbage out and keep it simple. To this effect I strive to get it all right in the field, and greatly minimize any post processing. What processing I do is kept rather simple. I do not believe in any post processing other than the long accepted traditional darkroom techniques. This means that  I do tweak exposure, and adjust colors. I also combine two exposures of the same image to increase the dynamic range on occasion. What I do not do is add elements to a photograph that were not already there or combine different elements of two different images.

The most frequent questions I receive are about what gear I use, so...

I use both a Canon 5D and a Canon 1DmarkII. I also own a whole bunch of Canon and Sigma lenses.
